UI VC, Prof. Abel Olayinka Media Chats On Diamond FM Earlier This Morning [DETAILS]

It will be recalled that the University of Ibadan Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abel Olayinka shut down the school four weeks ago via a radio broadcast, over the protest staged by the students of the university on the decision of the Students Disciplinary Committee (SDC) on the issue of a 500 level Petroleum Engineering student Ekpeti Micheal popular known as Mote and the request for a better welfare.

The Vice-Chancellor, addressed the media earlier this morning on the University Radio Station, Diamond FM 101.1 and these are some of his comments:

“Students will say Prof. Adewole (Now Minister of Health of Nigeria) is better than Prof. Olayinka, what’s my business with that ?”

"Once Arsenal is meeting Manchester united and there is power outage, the students go on protest"

"You can't ask students to pay extra #10,000, they'll burn down the school"

Well, if you say academic activities, that would mean lecturers are no longer thinking. Only lectures have been suspended not academic activities since lecturers are still thinking

“Academic activities haven’t been suspended since lecturers are still thinking”

"If we are to resolve the water issues in Idia hall, we'll have to tell students to pay #10000 each, but we dare not do that because the students will burn the hostel"

Power outage for 5mins, Students will go on Protest.

I am not a Political Scientist, I am a Geologist
Remember there is nothing like strike because students are not rendering any service-

"Some people are saying that Adewole is better than me, were they here during Olaide's time?, during his time, students go on strike every session"

It is the student that is on strike not U.I.

Many of the students have flooded the Official Facebook Group Of The Students' Union with different comments and reactions.

Immediately after the interview the hashtag #WhatsMyBusiness now trends on most Whatsapp and Facebook groups within the university community.

May God Bless The University of Ibadan.
